Privacy Notice

This notice explains what VEMScore collects during the free NBA beta and how we use it.

Short version. We keep only what we need to run the beta. Your email is never shown to other people. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for targeted advertising. VEMScore is for adults, and we keep only whether you are 21 or older, never your birth date.

Information we collect

If you ask for the Monday record email: your normalized email address, the time you agreed, the page you signed up from, limited campaign or referrer information associated with that signup, whether and when you confirmed by clicking the link we email you, and which weeks we sent you.
If you create a community account: your email address, a password (stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider), the username you choose, whether you are 21 or older, the posts you write and the reports you file. We use your birth date once at sign-up to check your age and do not store it.
Privacy-conscious product analytics such as page views, button interactions, an anonymous browser identifier, a session identifier, and allowlisted acquisition fields. We do not place email addresses, phone numbers, names, free-form messages, passwords, tokens, or secrets in analytics events.
Basic security and abuse-prevention data, such as a one-way hash of your network address used for rate limits.

What is public

Your username and your posts in game conversations are visible to anyone who opens the thread. Your email address and age check result are never shown to other members.

How we use information

We use waitlist and account information to run the beta, keep conversations safe, enforce our rules and send the emails you asked for. The Monday record is one short email a week, sent only after you confirm your address by clicking a link, plus a rare note when something big launches. Every email has a link to stop them, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. We use aggregate analytics to understand reliability and whether the product is useful. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Storage and service providers

The site stores a random anonymous identifier, a bounded delivery queue and, if you sign in, your session in local browser storage. Records are sent through restricted server endpoints and stored with row-level access controls. Infrastructure providers, including our database, authentication, site-hosting and email providers, process information only to operate and secure VEMScore.

Retention and your choices

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, security, and legal obligations. You may unsubscribe from update emails at any time. You may ask to access your information or to delete your waitlist record or your account and posts by contacting us.

Age

VEMScore accounts are for people 21 and older. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we will close it.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Depending on where you live, information may be processed in another country with different data-protection laws.
